Types of Therapy
Telehealth
We offer online counseling, this form of treatment is delivered through secure video chatting on a HIPAA-compliant web portal. This is essential for those days when you don't have time to deal with traffic or are too anxious to leave home. Telehealth is an option that provides you with increased convenience.
However the following are situations where telehealth is not appropriate:
Recent or history of suicidal or homicidal thoughts or actions
Recent or history of auditory/visual hallucinations
Active and severe substance use
Poor internet capabilities
Lack of privacy
In-Person Therapy (currently unavailable)
While online therapy is a good alternative, an in-person session can be even more beneficial. Meeting in person can provide you the opportunity to leave the house, get fresh air, and be around another person. At times it can be surprising how helpful a change of scenery can be.
Face-to-face therapy sessions have been proven to be effective in helping people with a variety of mental health concerns.
Below are some benefits of in-person therapy:
You’ll have a reason to leave the house and interact with others.
You may feel less isolated.
You will be able to give your therapist your full attention and avoid distractions during a session.
Certain activities or exercises that you may do with your therapist will be easier to do in person.
You may feel safer and more secure sharing in person than you do online.
It is important to note that the more severe the mental health concern is, the more likely in-person therapy will be recommended.
